It is snowing here! Not that I love snow but it does look better now that the dead grass is covered. I think winter is very depressing. With dead grass and the naked trees -hate it!!!

If this is not a feel good story I am not what is. Have you heard about this young lady finally finding out she was kidnapped 23 years ago from the hospital? I guess she had a gut feeling the lady that raised her just did not feel right. After doing a search she found a pic of her as baby on the missing persons page. After a DNA test she is that baby that was taken from the hospital. She was reunited with her mom and dad after 23 years. Is this a feel good story or what? I just love hearing stories like this. We need more of these on the news, don't you agree?

When I am down and feeling a little blah I DYE my hair. BLUE !!!!!

Rest in peace Margret we love you!!! (Dave's grandmother passed last week.)

I really feel like I live under a rock with my blog world of friends. Man, do I feel out of it and I am so sad to see how most of you can keep up with blogging while i am in this rut of non blogging. I remember there was a time where I would text Lindsay almost every day. My dear panda loving friend how I miss you. How about Carrie? We share the same love ---thrifts and Hello kitty! I miss you too. Miss my 80's loving and 80's blogging fool ( mean that in a loving way :) ) Kristie I miss you tons too. I miss reading Courtney's blog. How I could use a few make-up tips right about now. I miss reading Jamie's family fun( she has some pretty cool times with her family and I love that). Miss reading a lot of my scrapbooking blogs too. Okay, I miss scrapbooking :( makes me sad I do not get to scrap like i use to.

My blogging has slowed down since my job but I keep thinking I need to blog. The blogging makes feel good. Believe you me, my last post was so freeing. I felt so good knowing I could share and I thank everyone that sent me well wishes. THANK YOU!!!!! I was so nervous. Thank you for making feel 99% better. I will not be 110% until the day I get to put my arms around Hayley.

I have tossed around making this blog a personal blog and wanted it to keep it as I started it but I am going to throw that to the side for just this day. I am hoping maybe I can help someone that has gone through what I have gone through for 16 1/2 years. Most of you come to my blog for scrapping/crafty ideas or my etsy finds and lets not forget my music lists. If this is too much personal info I am sorry but I need to get it out there. Most of my family have been told. The only people that I have not told are the people i work with. I figure they need not to know everything in my life. 161/2 years ago I gave a baby girl up for adoption something that I have had to deal with and struggled with for every year. I called an agency that was out of Boston to see my options. They flew me to Boston where I then went to the agency. I was given several adopted parent books to look through. I finally decided on a couple that I thought was the perfect match. a hard one, this would be her family for the rest of her life. I met them the next day.

to make a long story short. The couple sent me pictures and letters until she was 6. I also sent pictures/packages and letters After that I never received letters or pictures. It was the agreement that the agency had with adopted couple one, that i did not like but dealt with. On October 21 I received a letter from "hayley". I never thought I would see this day so soon ( well not soon enough). I cried with sadness and cried with happiness. You would never believe the emotions that i was feeling. I had them all! her letter stated she had been looking for me on facebook for a while but without any luck. As soon as I heard this I had to sign up on fb but just for her. The crazy thing is before I started working I googled her name, her adopted parents and brothers name. I had no clue what their last name was, mind you. There it was infront of me. I could not believe it. I had info that I never had. I even found out where she went to school and where they lived. Mind you I did not want it to use it for knocking at their door but I just wanted to see a pic. while on fb I could not find her by typing in her name so, I went to her adopted mom's name. She was not on her frineds list but I found a friend of hers that did. BINGO!!! sent her a message telling her I received her letter. We have been texting ever since and sending picture messages. It is the best feeling knowing she forgives me and that she loves me as much as I love her. She was going to visit for Thanksgiving but with tickets costing so much, it does not look like she will be coming . I will be visiting her in June.

My new tattoo I got in Chicago~! Who says girls can't sport a sugar skull? I love them and love my tattoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay here is the tip--------------------------------------------------------

use some tape and put it across the nail --paint the nail that is showing. i used black and the first layer is pink ---:D
ta da!!!!! ----looks so cool :) love it and its easy!! if you have used this on your blog i am sorry for stepping on toes but
while in Chicago I noticed a girls fake nails (so freaking cool ) but I do not want fake nails so, i thought I would copy the effect she had on hers. The first time I used the white boo boo tape but for this post I used my cute tape --gasp but you need a tape that is not so sticky. Scotch tape is too thin and the nail polish screws it up.

Sorry for being missing in action and all but with work/ family it is hard to find time to get on the net.

Okay first of all my new camera does not like blogger or blogger does not like my camera. I tried and tried to upload my pics from my trip but blogger is posting them the wrong way. I thought I would take a break from it ( tried 3 days in a row last week). Super busy this week with school starting. My oldest started high school and my oldest son started 5th in a different school ( 5th and 6th are in a different building). My youngest will start tomorrow.

I have been thinking about how busy I have been since starting my job. I would like to have a swap. I try to make cards but of course I have not been up to it or extra time on my hands because believe you me I would be scrapping like a mad woman or learning to crochet ( thanks to Amber). Any who---I thought it would be cool to make christmas cards and exchange them. How does that sound? If you are interested let me know? lets try to to have 5 people and we make 25 of the same card. You would receive 25 cards but 5 different sets. let me know--:D

ME!!!!!!! Sorry I have been missing but I promise you all I will be back Monday with some pictures of my trip. I have to work 7 days straight to finally get a day off--:( bummer but it was so worth it. I loved Chicago and I got to see one of my fave bloggers--Miss Courtney!!!

my new hair

I was a little carried away with taking fun pictures.

My niece normally cuts my hair but this time I could not wait to get it cut. My hair was long and had no style to it. I now know why I love having Bryanna cut my hair. Have you ever gone to the salon and you ask for a certain cut but they keep hacking at it? Well, that is what happened. I asked for a certain style I had before my hair grew out but I wanted it cut by a razor( gives more texture). I showed her and she showed me where my hair would be. After it was cut my hair was way too short but I know it will grow out fast. My hair has some curl to it so, this is how it looks without using the flat iron.

birthday drawing, Gizmo, recycled tees and nail polish!

My dd drew this for me and it was on the counter when I go home on Wednesday morning. I forgot to take a pic of it and post it on my birthday post.

On my birthday post I did not have any pictures of Gizmo and Becky noticed. Here you go Becky--:D I had fun taking cute picture of Gizzy.

My dd and I made two tee bags made from old tees she had. They turned out super cute and its a no sew project--:D You can not beat that!! What you will need is an old tee( maybe hit up the thrift ) shoe string, and scissors. Take the tee turn it in side out and tie the bottom shut with the shoe string. Turn it back right. cute the sleeves off and the neckline off. I used the band from the neck to tie around the straps to give it a little cuteness. Carrie had something like this on her blog so, i had to make one. she sewed the bottom of the tee. I will have to sew one when I have the time.

Back in 1997-98 I bought the P.M.S nail polish and I loved loved it. It is a mood nail polish but it is dried out. A while ago over at the Dainty Squid she talked about buying mood nail polish at Claires. With no luck I could not find any at the mall but a few days ago I went to the store next to where I work. Look what I found!! Yes, mood struck and I had to have it if even if it was 3.99. I am in love and I need more.

one of the BEST birthdays EVER!!!!

My dh knows the way to my heart---CHOCLATE baby!!! I laid down around 130 yesterday ( mind you I had been up since 6 p.m the day before). Around 6 the bedroom door opened( scared the crap out of me) here came Dave and the kids singing Happy Birthday (while Dave held the birthday cake with one candle). I was so surprised!
I told Dave I wanted a small camera to put in my bag or in my pocket( its perfect for my trip to Chicago! ) that is what he bought me. I am also ordering some goodies off my etsy list--:) Thank you Carrie for the camera birthday card. The card is perfect! love you--:D I also want to thank my family for one of best birthdays EVER!! I love you!!
Look what I received on my bday ----Yes, that is a Lindsay original and yes, I love her so much. The cutest plushie EVER!!
Simba needed a friend ( he told me so--heehee)

Starbucks was also on my list for the day---PERFECT!! vanilla bean frap with a shot espresso .
Could not go to Target without a stop in the 1.00 section. I found the best sticker letters WOODGRAIN!!! They are not all woodgrain but I had to have them. I also bought the teal/Zebra print ones for a layout that I am working on.

Over at the Pink Ninjas they are having a swap of sorts. They are celebrating this cuties birthday. To celebrate her birthday they want the Pink Ninja fans to scrap pictures of Ally. I picked a couple from her blog and one from the list they emailed out. I can not wait to get the pics from Walgreens today. While at Hobby Lobby I picked out some pretty hot paper just for this. All I can say is PINK and leopard print----:D also some teal---YUMMY colors--:D

Oh my gosh yesterday I was changing the tv channel because i hate to wait through stupid commercials. I turned it over to Good Morning America( i am a today show freak) and this young violinist( david garrett) was on. He was rocking out to Smells Like Teen Spirit. Oh my goodness he rocked it and he was amazing. I am in aww of people that can play the violin but this guy was interesting to watch ( okay he is not bad on the eyes--:D ) I could tell he really enjoys what he does. David is not one of those that sits and moves his head. You should check him out.

Pandas and layouts oh my

I have been working on this project for Miss Lindsay
for several months. I am now happy to say I am finished( except for extra pages I want to make). I was so nervous making the binder but I have to say it turned out a lot better than I thought it would. My first attempt turned out to be a complete failure and melted the plastic--eeks!! I admit it I think my nervousness made me want to put it off all together. I think that was the failure was meant to be because I came up with this idea with bamboo. When you think of Pandas what comes in mind? I think of bamboo and leaves--well except for their cuteness.

I am sorry for the bad photos but I did not want to take the layouts out of their sleeves.

I would like to tell you about the journaling class the sweet Janel is holding. You can see more details here . She is the one that had the 30 day art journal challenge with only ink and paper ---it was totally cool and I so wish I had the time to do this class. The class costs 10.00 but its for a great cause. Her and her dh want to adopt from over seas and we all know how much that is going to cost them. LOTS!! Seems not fair! Since I can not seem to find the time to do the class ( I am 4 pages behind on the last challenge) I am still going to send her 10.00 in the baby bottle fund. I thought it is the least I could do to make their dream come true and to make a baby girl finally have a family they deserve. Please check her blog out. Plus a friend of mine is having a great giveaway over at her blog------a spot in the journaling class!!! Yes, you read that right. How sweet is she? So thoughtful and so sweet! finally get to go to one of her stores!!! awesome-- :D I am hoping for a great clearance or just something I can afford--fingers crossed!

It will be just the girls heading out on the 6th of Aug. My daughter(14), her friend(14) and my niece (25) ( of course I am going). I can not wait!! I have never been to Chicago. We are going to see the concert Lollapalooza on Friday and then on Saturday shop until we drop!!
We booked our hotel and payed for the tickets! I can't wait( can you tell?) !!!! I am super excited!!

I have been a bad bad blogger and have the thought to blog but when it comes to it , just not feeling it. :( my job has drained me from just about everything. I finally mailed off my atc swap--sorry girls for being a slacker! I am still working on a project for miss Lindsay ( I have more layouts finished and doing the binder ( making sure I don't melt this one--:) ) Did all the layouts I needed to but still making more just because its fun. Plus she is the cutest!!

I finally bought a new phone yesterday! If you don't have twitter or I did not email you please text me! I was without a phone since last Monday night and it killed me. Another thing I lost every single contact( okay the phone was 6 years old). I am now out of the stone age and have a phone that take pretty good photos and has the net!! Yahoooo thank goodness for technology. Without it I wouldn't have met the great bloggers in this world and some have become great friends.

What did you collect as a child? Or do you still collect it? I no longer collect but I love being able to pull these books out to remember the times of collecting. I remember trading stickers between friends. I tried not to have doubles in my collection and I usually traded the extra sheets or ones that family would buy me that were doubles. Some of my collection are falling off due to being so old--:( no sticky left. perfect day off

we sat in the wine dining room. Can you tell why it was called that? These bottles were above our heads.

Yesterday my in laws came down and we went to one of my fave places to eat. Buca di Beppo is an Italian restaurant. I love all the pictures on the walls and the amazing food. My fave is the chicken breasts with lemon butter and capers. The place serves everything in family style.
2nd day prompt please excuse the mess of what is a blanket on the bed. I need to go back with a thicker marker to color it in.
4th day prompt I skipped over the 3rd day to try to practice doodling a person. I am terrible at it but I want to do the prompt. I want to break out of my egg shell. all these journal pages are from Janel's 30 day art journal challenge. I am loving just using ink and paper. thanks again Janel for having these challenges.

I did these three layouts using the amazing kits from the Pink Ninjas. I still need to add some journaling and add the word in with my dymo on the last one.

Did you do anything this week that was nice for a change? It was nice to get out of the house besides just going to work. My plans for the for Friday and Saturday go to target and post office ( and work of course ). I want a Starbucks so damn bad!!

Tomorrow I will post about my day today and some layouts that I have done tonight.

I miss family time,friends, reading my favorite blogs, my creative outlet, searching etsy, art journaling, scrapbooking, tv shows and a regular sleep schedule.

Right now my hands fall asleep while I sleep and while I even put make-up on. I am 10 years older from the last time I worked night shift so, I am thinking its age--don't judge! :) Other than that I feel great! I really like the crew I work with ( well so far). My night manager is a lot better to work for from the last one I had. I am now official stocker of the clothing. I use to do that area once before so, it is easy peasy lemon squeezy. I say as long as you keep up with everything that comes in, its not a big deal. The person that had done it before let it go down hill. I have a lot to do before its 100% but I know I can do it.

Another problem is the house work. I figured since I no longer stay home people would step up. I thought wrong. I had problems with my family being lazy before but this is getting out of hand. What should I do? I figured with my 14 year old I am going to take her phone and lap top( which I am on ) away from her. My boys will be hit the hardest because they like way too many things. No tv, no games, no outside and no slot car track( its new so they will have a fit). I can't take anything away from my dh ----or can I? :D

I wrote a note and posted it in the kitchen

I am so sorry to all my blog friends. I promise I will be around more often. I have made a list of what days to post to my blog and every morning I will check my fave blogs. I will allow time at night to double check blogs.

I also want to send my thoughts and prayers to my friend jami. Jami's grandmother passed away the other day. I am truly sorry for your loss. ((hugs)) to you and your family. I love you!

3rd shift is kicking my a**!!

Wanted to show how I looked for my interview last week. I started work on Sunday night. I had last night off and tonight off. Man it is hard getting back into a groove. I worked at Sam's Club 8 years ago but when I left I was on days. I had worked there for 5 years starting out on night shift. I picked nights again because it works best for our family.
I made these two pages for Wyatt and Samuel's teachers. (Lindsay requested to see them.) Not my best work but at least I did get them done.

My bestie Jami sent me these awesome goodies. LOOk at those socks!! Yes, those are owls on them. Thanks so much!! I can not wait to use the paper. I was hoping to scrap tonight. crossing my fingers!! I won a giveaway over at Tabitha's little place. Thanks for the goodies!!

Here is my challenge from over at Scrap Outside the Box . The challenge is to use a paper bag. This layout is for my Happy Mail book too.
I wanted to share a pic of my dd receiving her award last week. She received an award for being on honor roll all year. We are very very proud of her.

Guess what I did yesterday? Went on an interview and had a drug test!!! I will start work Sunday night!!! I am so excited!! I have not worked outside the home for almost 8 years ago.

What kind of plans do you have this weekend? Tonight the boys are watching iCarly and then the family will be watching Alice In Wonderland. Tomorrow I will have to figure out how to stay up all night. That way I can sleep during the day Sunday because I will be working Sunday night until Monday morning. Any ideas to stay up on Saturday?

I had asked Jamie where she gets her graph paper. I have bought scrapping paper that has graph printed on it but I could not find real graph paper. She told me she would send me some and that is what she did--:D She also sent me some really cool stickers. thanks Jamie!! I have used the graph paper A LOT!!! Since we are talking about Jamie. You should go run to her blog! Why? you might ask. well, she is amazing for 1 , 2 she is inspiring in every way and last but not least she is having a HUGE giveaway. 32 of her favorite things!!!!!! HAPPY MAIL!!!!!!!!! My package from Kristie arrived on Monday--look at all those goodies for scrapping. I received so many great scrappy goodies that my head is spinning. Spinning with ideas of course!! She never knew this but one of my fave cereals as a kid was Lucky Charms. look at that lip gloss--LUCKY CHARMS!!! Kristie also bought me a pack of chocolate covered peanuts but they were gone as soon as I opened the package--:D

not a toy but this was one of my first cameras. lol do you remember disc cameras?
Never received one of these but wanted one badly. I still have my other strawberry shortcake dolls. I might have been a little old but i did not care. I loved that she gave strawberry kisses.
fuzzy stickers!! i have these in my collectioni had fun many times at my grandparents playing with this.
Scratch and sniff--my teacher knew not to put it on my paper. I would keep them and add it to my book later. did your teacher ever give out these?

My cover for my happy mail book. I took a big piece of chipboard/cardboard and covered it with envelopes from my happy mail partners. I also cover it with stickers they had sent me( some of the envelopes already had stickers but I wanted to cover some spaces that were blank. the flowers and piece of paper are there to cover addresses. inside the cover --:D thanks Jamie for the graph paper--love it!!!
Here we have Sam's book about Stanley's adventures he went on. showing some of the pages.

This layout was made from the Pink Ninja's kit --thrift shop junkie. I love all the papers and all the pretty embellies.
These last two layouts were made from the kit Mommy's Little monster. Just when I thought the Thrift shop junkie was my fave. You can check out more kits or this one here what a creative weekend I had. I did my art journal, finished Stanley's book, made my cover to happy mail and did 5 layouts. WOW!!! My creative juices were flowing none stop and I loved every minute of it. Did you do anything creative?

I thought today was going to be one of those gloomy days but it turned out to be a beautiful day.

I finished Stanley's trip book. I will make sure I post pics tomorrow. The book turned out to be cute( ok I made it :D ) I gathered up everyone's pictures they sent and turned them into a little book about Stanley's adventures.

Tonight I am going to work on a cover for my Happy Mail book. I thought it would be nice to recycle something around here instead of buying what I need.

I have been trying really hard to keep up with our every day art journal prompts but I am usually two behind. lol I think I need to let go more and let things fall as they may. I feel like I need to follow the prompt to a "T" but I should not feel like that this is my book--right?

Wow!! What a beautiful day for the Race for the Cure. The weather was perfect!! I am so happy because it had rained here almost all week. We broke the record from last years runners and walkers too. We raised tons of money and had a great walk! I am so proud to be able to be part of this awesome event. I can't wait to be there again next year. I love seeing all that come together for a great cause. You can check out more here or here .

this little guy will be getting a hair cut tomorrow. No more looking like a sheep dog for Gizmo. My dd and I will be joining 47,000 people for the Race for the Cure tomorrow. It is going to be a beautiful day and I can not wait to be in the crowd. If this shot does not inspire I have no clue what will. Every time I see this picture it gives me goosebumps. This picture was taken two years ago by --ME!! I took a similar shot from last years but I could not find it on my computer. --:(

I bought this awesome kit from the Pink Ninjas. I have to say I am totally 100% hooked. I even broke down bought more today. I can not wait to get my hands on them. here are my three layouts i did with the kit. I still have tons of goodies left to make more layouts. The reason they are so different from the rest of the kit clubs ---handmade goodies and they hand pick ribbons, fabric and cute plastic goodies. Where in the world can you buy all this ? no where!! If you would go to ascrapbook store you could not find the cute flair or the fabric.
the only goodies i added to this layout was a paper doilie and cardboard.
look at that cute little gnome flair and the little plastic deer.
handmade the background paper on this one--with paper doilie, food coloring w/ water into a spray bottle after i sprayed the doilies i took them off and left the negative space. I thought it looked like the sun so that is why i cut out the clouds.
I now i have done these pics before but I had tons printed so why not do them yet again. I knew these pics were meant for this prompt from the Pink Ninja's

I want to give a big hug to Lindsay for having this awesome polaroid frame stamp made just for me. I love it so much. I did two more layouts using this stamp.

Speaking of Lindsay look at this layout I did for her. Probably wondering how i did this well, i took those paper doilies sprayed glimmer mist over them and then pulled them off. I then dipped bubble wrap into paint adding that onto the paper. I added a few goodies from her stash. What do you think? totally cuteness--:D

I am 2 pages behind on my art journal. I hate that but I have been in the scrapping mood. I want to thank my friend Jami for scrapping with me today. I also want to welcome her to Scrap Outside the Box!!
I hope I gave you inspiration to scrap or maybe sit down to make paper with doilies, food coloring( glimmer mist) and paint. I would love to see what you come up with.

field trip on Thursday at the ice cream factory and store --(did not get to take pics at the chocolate factory except for inside the candy store.)------ :(

My dh and son outside of Graeter's. We had a great time and the ice cream was delish! My dh had a coffee milkshake. Sam had cookie dough ice cream on a sugar cone and I had mint chocolate chip on a sugar cone.
Thursday was karate test night. Our boys tested for their senior yellow belt.
after the field trip to the ice cream and chocolate factories we went to the thrift store until the boys got out of school. Look what I found for Carrie. I called her from the thrift with my excitement. I can't believe I had found pyrex( it is very hard to find at our local thrift stores). I also bought another Polaorid for myself. In my hometown. We went to visit family ( my mom and my grandparents) this is outside my mom's apartment. Yes, that is an Amish buggy. See it pays off to have your camera with you at all times. :D
Last night my dd made tacos for dinner. Here she cut the tomatoes into a heart. How cute!!

I wanted to share what Deb sent me. Here is my new SB sleeve. I love love it!! thank you Deb! I use it every time I go and its in my bag ready for another trip to starbucks.

My happy mail partner from last month sent me these goodies. I already put the imagine wall decal in my living room. I have used the stamps already too! Ohthose paper stackz come in handy for making a card. thanks Debbie I loved everything. scrapbooking and hello kitty a way to my heart!

I am having problems with my computer or it might just be the internet. I will blame it on the weather.

Today is national srapbook day. I was scrapping this morning but I was not feeling it. I cleaned and took a shower so, I am hoping I can get back into it. Cross your fingers because I need to work on a lot and I have a page from my class I need to do.

Elaine inspired me to put all my little things that I hoard ( yes hoard) into a 3 ring binder and here I am passing it to you. This is what I am using for my art journal instead of digging through plastic drawers and bins. I even color coded them like she did. I love this idea and it is much easier to find my goodies. the sleeves are baseball card sleeves I took over from my dh--hee hee and put some of my MM cards in but you can see they are no longer in them. thank you Elaine for posting this awesome idea on your blog awhile back.

samples of my collection of goodies. Yes, I took my dd hair bow she was going to throw out. You never know when you might new a plastic bow. I save everything from tags to candy wrappers. Do you save or hoard things like I do? Are you inspired to organize them in a 3 ring binder? If you have any other cool ideas for organization in the scrappy or crafty department let me see.

thanks to all that gave me love on my art journaling I am still new at it and nervous to show them off. Ihave been so inspired by many of you that are taking the class and many of you that just art journal for yourself. I thank you again for that!!

my weekend

Went to the Mansfield reformatory to see if we could get a tour but tours don't start until May.
The reformatory is famous for being in Shawshank Redemption, Air Force one, Tango and cash, Harry & Walter go to New York. Many tv shows for ghosts and mtv shot a few videos here.

it was built in 1886 but was not opened for the young offenders until 1896. The doors closed in 1990 --I remember when this happend and the new one was built behind the old building. Soon the reformatory was going to be torn down but people stepped in to save it. Now they hold weddings, reunions, tours, sleep overs( for those into ghost hunting) and lets not forget the haunted prison experience( halloween). The reformatory is the largest castle like structure in ohio. I can not wait to go back in May to take the tour.

I also remember one of the guys I went to school with was an extra in the movie Shawshank Redemption.

My happy mail from miss Jamie and the brains behind the happy mail blog. Before I received this package I was having issues with my creative mojo but that day I was in a creative overload. Jamie, thank you so much I love everything and I needed new cute note cards. I have made many cute things out of the stamps---I will show those later next week. I am hoping I can give all of you a load of creative inspiration. Please check out Jamie's blog she is very creative and is an inspiration in every way. saturday thrift finds

this is after we got back from our 4 thrift store shop until you drop Saturday. My dd, me, my moms friend Tina and my mom. Please excuse the nasty hair day I was having. I usually care what my hair looks like but it was a windy day. LOL!!
brass owl --he is about 8 inches high and I paid only .90 cents!!
my favorite item a cuckoo clock --it is about 3 to 4 inches high and was in a grab bag of goodies. as soon as i spotted i knew i had to have it. the little sparrow goes back and forth as the second hand. all the goodies plus this cute cute clock .50 cents.
a vintage pillow case for .99 cents. thanks to all those that have me obsessed with vintage sheets!! :D
I had to have this cute class owl and he was the most expensive item I bought. I actually ended up buying two but sent the other one to a cutie I know. The other one had a cork stopper. I am going to use mine for my scissors.

My mom brought me this when she came down. My bathroom is done with moon and stars. The top part of the walls is done in this wall paper and the bottom half is a midnight blue. I actually have been wanting that sign but it will not match when I change my bathroom to PINK. I am sure I will find a place for it.

hand made envelopes diy

items you will need
1. scissors
2. wood grain contact paper or other paper( 2 pieces ) one for the front and one for inside.
3. an envelope torn apart( this is your template)
4. adhesive
5. sharpie
my adhesive I used or use a double side tape.
trace envelope onto the back of the wood grain contact paper. You will also trace it on the second piece of paper.
looks like this. You will cut out both and glue them together.
fold the flaps from the left side and right side add adhesive .
I hope these instructions are easy to follow.

Now all you do is add a cute letter or hand made card mail it off to your friend. I used my first one on my art journal page but I am for sure going to mail this one off to one of my friends. I would love to see what you use to make a cute envelope.

crimped hair. I did it, did you? My mom probably has my crimper.
Paint splattered clothing. I have to say I had my share of this and boy did I love it. My mirrored sun glasses were splattered, gray jeans and a shirt. Stirrup pants( pic is off 80's com) --I did have these and boy did I love them. You had to have a big baggy shirt or sweater paired with them.
I had some of these granny boots but without the higher heel. I had to look like Madonna--:D
Did you own an Angora sweater? I owned a lot and they were for sure my fave because they were soft and so pretty --well back then they were. I will have to dig out my polaroids of my black angora sweater with with hearts. Lets not forget my feathers bangs---:D
I had two pairs of patterned jeans. I had one pair that were black with flowers and a pink pair with flowers--what was I thinking?
Guess? jeans ---I only owned one pair. I was not really into the name brands but I did have to have a pair.
Members Only jacket--I had one when I was younger in pink and then again when I was little older in red. Oh that jacket was my fave.

Lindsay had Stanley last week and he is home for a little while. She sent really cute pictures of Stanley getting his craft on and he loves yarn. He also played in the North Dakota snow. I am hoping I can find another friend to take him for a week. ( Stanley is a project for my littlest man)
My new obsession---OPI's mad as a hatter nail polish ( its part of the Alice in Wonderland collection). LOVE IT!!! The picture does not give it justice. The sparkles are all different colors.

Mind you I just woke up an hour ago. I cut my bangs because I was inspired to cut them again. I had been letting them grow out until this cutie posted her pics.

I scrapped online with my friend and birthday girl this morning. Happy Birthday Jami!!! Love you and I wish I was there. Did you guys do anything creative? I took a long nap today too so, I might be getting my craft on later--:D I need to finish four craft swap plushies and start wrapping them. Saturday I am off thrifting with my mom, her friend and my dd. It is going to be so much fun. Over the weekend my oldest son flying his kite.

Here is my littlest flying his kite.

I love seeing how they light up with seeing the kite soar high into the sky. I think they went to the field 4 times that day. Oh the joy of the little things.

I remember Wyatt said "one good thing the kite does not need batteries." me---" yes! that is great."

Now why can't it be like this every weekend.

My dh took the boys to the skate park for an hour on Sunday.

My goodies I won from Jamie! I love love the atc book. I actually just started to add some liquid pearls to it and then maybe add a few more cute items to it. I have plans for the other board books as well.
This is not happy mail but it made Samuel happy. He found a four leaf clover a couple weeks ago. It is not 100% done but this is what I did to protect it. What do you think? Vicky and I have been exchanging atc for two months now. LOOk at these!! oh my goodness Hello Kitty holding a camera--:D Look at the one with the ducks. I love how she made the flower pop. Cuteness!! thanks so much Vicky!! I could swap with you forever!!My card and print from my happy mail peep :D I was happy to receive it because I was drooling over every one elses print. 4. never really knew my dad( talked to him like three times and wrote him a long letter without any response a few years ago) but I think of my ex -step dad as my father( steve) I have known him and his family since I was 2. My mom and Steve divorced when I was 5( i still have contact with him. )

6. While in high school two pieces of my art were in the Ohio governor's youth art exhibition.

7. I was on a bowling league when i was in jr high and high school.

9. I don't like salt but I do like season salt. I only use that for my eggs.

10. I have to have my bed made. I refuse to get into a bed unmade. Its a weird fact but it is true.

11. met Dave while working in a factory.

12. He worked on the press ( printed boxes) and I worked in quality control.

13. We had Sydney before we married.

14. we moved from our home town because we needed better jobs.

I did this for the design team for Scrap Outside the Box . The challenge is to use a comic. The comic I used for this says---"Just when you think girls are no fun, you run into one like Gina." Not sure why its not up on the blog but I did send it last month. Oh well ---here it is for all to see! Lindsay btw those are the letters I will be making you. I used the paper I marbled by using shaving cream and food coloring. One of my friends said I should do a DIY. What do you think? Sounds like a good idea to me. Jami thank you for my star/dotted paper!! THE PINK NINJA'S CHALLENGE ---I LOVE THIS BLOG!!

This is probably my favorite owl by far. I found it tucked behind the wicker baskets. Usually these items are not in that area so, I am sure some one thought they would come back to get him. SUCKER!!! He is super heavy! He was my most expensive item today--just under $5.00. Contact paper---wait for it wait for it........90 cents!!! YAY what a score!

I spotted him from the end of the isle. This owl votive holder( .90 cents) will be in my next giveaway. I think he is super cute but I figured I would spread the owl love. Stay tuned before the weekend is up. Not sure if he is real crystal but I am sure he will be pretty with the candle light glowing behind him.

I also bought a shirt for .99 cents but its in the washer.

Yesterday, I did not get on my computer once. I am very proud of myself. I went to church with my dh. After church we went up to our hometown. We ended up staying just for a couple hours. I came home and cleaned the house. I had not cleaned since before my sil came( don't judge-:D ) . I figured cleaning two days in a row was enough for awhile.

I only took two pictures of Easter --:( i am so so sad and I know I will kick myself later.

The pictures are of my cupcakes I made. The idea came from Elsie's blog. I bought the whipped frosting--Oh my goodness so so yummy!! I need to break down to make my grandmothers frosting. I remember it being so good and fluffy but everything from your grandmother tasted better. For some reason I remember my grandparents milk even tasting a lot better. I think it was because it was colder. lol

I hope you had a beautiful Easter and you captured memories. Tonight one of my kiddos will be drawing a name for my giveaway. YAY!!!!

We had a great time and the weather was beyond beautiful. This summer we will be heading down to North Carolina to visit my sil, niece, nephew and bil. I can not wait to take the kids to the beach. I will be the one staying on the beach taking tons of photos. :)

I signed up for this class by these cuties!! I am super excited!!! I mean super duper excited.
Yesterday my sil came down to stay with us. My boys wanted her to see them go to Karate class. When she came down we took a walk around the neighborhood. Later in the day we went to the metro park. We had a blast and took tons of pictures. I will be posting them tomorrow. The post might be a little photo heavy but I can't get over how nice it was here and how beautiful the sky looked. My sil stepped on a snake which made me freak out screaming and running. I guess if you were there you would have had a great photo op. Heehee! My screaming made her scream and run also. She said " why are we screaming and running"? funny stuff!

I feel lost

I went up to my hometown to see my sil and nephew. Gives the cousins a chance to play and be cousins. We had a great time but I missed my blog friends and seeing what was going on twitter. Now you see why I feel lost--am I the only one that feels that way? lol

I decided to start cleaning today since my sil will be staying here Thursday. See what I dug out of my dh den? I love that radio! I have to be honest I did not like it at first but it grew on me. I saved it from 3 inches of dust and what knows what. It now has a home on the table my dad gave me. I love the table too because it was my dad's, it has claw feet and a lion head as a pull. It might have a lot of scratches, cigarette burns( from dad) or water rings but I love it just the same. One day I will have my aunt restore it back to its beauty. My dad told me that Leave it to Beaver had one on the show. I never remember seeing it --lol I always looked too.

I now need to get busy on three swaps and my new Happy Mail. I am so happy to be back to blog land --I missed you all--xoxo gina

what kind of goodies have you been making? I love working with paper but more and more I want to sit down to make jewelry. I use to make jewelry out of broken watches. I loved opening the backs to see all the wheels and gears. In high school I had a piece go to the regional art show. I will have to see if I can dig up pics.

I need to think what kind of goodies I want to giveaway . I am thinking of making this a fun one--how about 2 different ones? That means double fun and more chances of winning!!! If you have been to Starbucks lately, you may know they have a new flavor--DARK CHERRY MOCHA. Do you ever try the new flavors? I seem to stick with my same drink but last Thursday while out shopping for my happy mail partners, I took the plunge. Yes! me I took the plunge from drinking my same old same old to the most yummiest drink ever made. I don't care for chocolate covered cherries unless they are homemade or from the local candy store back home( again home made). This drink is like drinking a chocolate covered cherry and its like a party in your mouth. I say run there and try it asap!!!! well that is if you love chocolate and cherries!!! Hand stamped paper with my fave sassafras lass rainbow paper for a little added touch. Here is the flower I am in love with. You will probably end up sick of seeing these. I am now totally 100% hooked on making them.

My layout for SOTB . If you need a little inspiration we used shopping bags for the challenge. I knew I wanted to use the shopping bag my dd brought back from her Washington D.C trip. She collects Pandas( now you might know why I had my dream between Lindsay and Syd's love of Pandas).
I needed some inspiration so this is what i came up with for a challenge over at Scrapperie . The challenge is nothing to be straight and drop that ruler.

I will be taking a couple days off from my projects. A much needed time off so I can recharge my head. I also have other crafty idea brewing in my and maybe some flowers to be made. You may know I have been working on a little project with Lindsay. Is it wrong I had a dream with Pandas last night? I think I might take a day off --the Pandas were not nice in any way in my dream. I was being chased with by a Panda in boxer shorts--why? I have no clue :D I did a lot of work yesterday for this project. I can't wait to post some of them. I even made some really cool flowers. I told my bestie I will be making her some because I am a little obessed with making them at the moment.
I have been working on Happy Mail cards for my HM peeps( hello Lindsay and Sasha) and bday cards for HM. I am a total slacker with bday cards--sorry Jamie but I did make the month of Apirl ahead of time( those will also be sent to you in this shipment).

Look what showed up on Saturday! I received my instax!! I took 6 photos that day.
Yesterday I received this!! Can you say HAPPY MAIL? Oh my goodness look at all those goodies. Thanks to Jen my Happy Mail partner for the month of Feb.--:D She did an awesome job! Do you want to know her theme? It was my blog header --papercamerascissors!! she sent me a change purse with scissors on it from Dainty Squid . again thank you!! She also sent me a silver camera pendant on a chain--again its perfect!! I love everything!! I ate all my chocolates--:D I can't wait to use my little stickers on a layout and my paper. I have been busy busy busy with three projects going on at once. One is for Lindsay, a crafty swap between Carrie and the other one is a project for another friend. I even sneak a little scrapping in there for myself--:D

A small amount of my great grandmothers and grandmothers jewelry. I love each piece even if some are not perfect. I love wearing them or just sitting wondering when/where every piece came from. The oldest piece is a copper pin with my great grandmothers name engraved. I have no clue when it was made but to me it means a lot to have something she had. Do you have jewelry from any family members ? Do you wear them?

I received my first Happy Mail package today. I LOVE everything I received. Thanks so much Jessica !!!!!!! Look at those cute Sly fox cards, coffee --a way to my heart !!! oh and HELLO kitty= LOVE a handmade bow for my hair and pin---which I have been wanting and wanting to make( she read my mind). I am going to use those recipe cards for two things writing down recipes and for a scrapbooking page--:D love the retro look! This cute cute camera will be on its way to me! I can't wait!! I have been wanting this camera FOREVER! I have looked and looked for awesome deals. I found one on Amazon with 100 photos and in choco but when I finally went to buy it, they were gone--:( Oh well onto the next best deal---white with 50 photos! YES YES!! Can you tell I am excited? I am super excited. Now I have the other one I am dreaming of owning ---the Polaroid that has wood grain--:D

I received my order from A cherry on top yesterday. I can't get over how much paper I actually picked out. I love paper--can you tell? I also love cameras and coffee --I had to get the die and the stamp. I see a lot of cards with coffee themed and camera themed.

I can see more scrapping in my future and that makes me super happy.

weekend recap

On Friday we built a tent and watched the Incredible Mr. Limpet. The boys fell asleep inside it. Saturday I watched the movie The Time travelers wife with my dd. I have to say it was a 6 kleenex movie--I am so terrible at movies like that.

I also scrapped the day away on Saturday ( in between making lunch and dinner) but some of you know that--:D

Sunday --we did nothing. I cleaned, cooked and did laundry. I also uploaded my dt layout -after finding out I had done the wrong challenge. I did get the correct one finished.

Omg ---I was so shocked to receive these punches. I did a challenge over at Kat's blog--check it out here. I knew I had won the one but when there were two --I had no clue. I used them right away. You can check out how I used them below. I love the card she made too. LOOK at that flower made of circles--AMAZING!! If you need inspiration on sketches for scrapping or cards please check out her blog. You never know you might even win a little prize after finishing a page. How could you go wrong with that?

Here are the layouts I have been working on. Do they need anything? I sat watching the Olympics last night and doodled Panda heads --what do you think? Should I keep my day job?
I also used felt for the mat.

I told Lindsay some of the layouts will be simple and some I will go overboard.

If you don't watch the Olympics you missed a BIG night. We are big fans of Shaun White in our house. Seeing him do his tricks and how high of air he gets is so mind blowing. I know Shaun gives my boys inspiration because last night was so inspirational in every way.

Lindsey Vonn also struck gold. Even with an injury Lindsey came out with GOLD!!! She is for sure inspiration for me--work through the pain and you will receive the reward at the end.

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.
